In Her Shoes

MEET LAURA

#InHerShoes / 2022

Ok yes, our shoes are real cute, but what's even more cute and cool and stylish and inspiring are all the badass people in our shoes. So this year, we decided to pass the mic to some longtime supporters and CS connoisseurs, and asked them to help bring our shoes to life. The challenge? Style one shoe three different ways and tell us a little bit about yourself while doing it. The result? As expected, incredible.

Keep scrolling to see what Laura (@lrfrd on IG) gets up to in our Pale Lime Carlos.

Who are you and what are you about?
I'm a creative working as a User Experience Designer in the fashion tech field. I have a passion for everything bright, printed, and colorful. I'm a devoted dopamine dresser with the goal of inspiring others to dress exactly how they feel! When I'm not designing, you'll find me on a run or playing soccer.

Where are you from & where do you live now?
I was born and raised in a small town in the mountains of South Carolina, but I have been in the lovely but humid (!!) Savannah, GA for the past four years. I'm actually in the midst of moving to either DC or Austin, so I'm at an exciting crux of my life!

How did you find out about Charlotte Stone?
I stumbled across Charlotte Stone on Instagram when I saw the bright green Marlos and absolutely fell in love.

How do your feet measure up in our shoes?
My foot is on the narrow side, with a high arch. I usually have a hard time finding shoes that fit my length without being too wide but these Carlos are perfect!

Describe your style in three words.

Punchy, joyful, unrestricted.

On an average day, you’ll find me in:
A patterned dress, pink lipstick, bright kicks & a slick bun.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me:
Listening to podcasts on a run, watching HGTV while tackling a home project, or pinterest-ing my next outfit inspo.

What are you passionate about?
I'm super passionate about protecting the things that bring you joy—whatever that may be. As someone that values productivity, it's imperative that everyone has scheduled refuel time, doing an activity that uplifts their spirit. Without this, life will take its toll, and productivity will become decimated.

Life is made for living—don't forget that!

Who or what inspires or influences your style?
I particularly love to be inspired by outfit repeaters! I feel like Instagram cultivates a culture where a piece of clothing is one and done, but I find that those who reuse and rewear inspire the most creativity to put together unexpected outfits. My go-to gals are Megan Ellaby, Maxine Wylde, and Maggie Villamaria.

Do you have a style icon? Why are they your style icon?
Hailey Bieber! She always looks effortlessly put together, and her style reminds me to refine when sometimes my instinct is "more is more." Her inspo helps me strike the perfect balance between maximalism and minimalism.

What are you watching or reading or hobbying right now?
I'm actually reading through the New Testament book of James right now! It's such a great way to reflect on your life and make changes for the better, even if those changes are really hard to do and selfless in a me-first culture!

What three things could you not live without?
My kitties Oakie and Ruthie, Notion to organize my life, and coffee (of course!).

What article of clothing are you living in right now?
My House of Sunny Tiger Print denim. Such a statement maker!

What “traditional” styling rule do you love to break?
"Matching" in general. I love to color block, mix prints, or pull from different style genres in unexpected ways.

If it makes you happy, just wear it!

What is one weird fashion trend from your youth that you kind of wish came back?
Gaucho pants! I'm not going to lie... those bad boys were comfy! They were basically glorified sweatpants.

What is one thing about yourself people might be surprised to find out?
I am a huge nerd haha! I love to learn and talk about tech industry trends.
