In Her Shoes

MEET OLIVIA

#InHerShoes / 2022

Ok yes, our shoes are real cute, but what's even more cute and cool and stylish and inspiring are all the badass people in our shoes. So this year, we decided to pass the mic to some longtime supporters and CS connoisseurs, and asked them to help bring our shoes to life. The challenge? Style one shoe three different ways and tell us a little bit about yourself while doing it. The result? As expected, incredible.

Keep scrolling to see what Olivia (@ojwinters on IG) gets up to in our Camel Koris.

Who are you and what are you about?
Hi, my name is Olivia/Liv! I work for a company that helps small businesses grow using targeted social media campaigns. I describe myself as curious, goofy, and strong. I love seeing new places and trying new things. I’m into anything that could be considered art, including expressing myself through clothes! I’m about doing things that make you happy and trying your best to be a good person.

Where are you from & where do you live now?
I'm originally from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA! I also lived in Pittsburgh for 4 years & feel like a part of me is now from there, too. I currently live in Lititz, PA.

How did you find out about Charlotte Stone?
My boyfriend Noah gets all the credit! He has great style and knows mine pretty well. He saw the Rafs on Instagram and sent them to me, and they actually ended up being my first CS pair.

How do your feet measure up in our shoes?
I have a medium foot width, and low/medium arch (my arch is flat when I stand, but appears when I sit). For me, Kori's at the perfect level of having enough room width-wise that I can throw them on easily, but also aren't so roomy that it's a struggle to keep them on. They're an easy pair to wear.

Describe your style in three words.

Dynamic, feel-good, youthful.

On an average day, you’ll find me in:
It really does range on a daily basis, but a jumpsuit is probably my go-to. They make me feel comfortable and cute at the same time. I lean toward pieces with a funky element, whether it’s a bright color, pattern, logo, etc. Nowadays, I’m getting a lot of wear from my Charlotte Stone Conways. They’re another easy way to look cute while staying casual and comfy.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me:
Normally going for a walk or grabbing ice cream with my boyfriend! I like to cook, watch movies, and talk with my friends and siblings. I also try to take some weekend trips to adventure.

What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about learning how to do better for myself, others and the earth.

Traveling is a big passion of mine. I've been lucky enough to study in & travel to other countries, and it definitely gives you a new perspective.

Who or what inspires or influences your style?
I feel like I just live normal life and am exposed to things. I get a lot of inspiration from perusing stores and Instagram. The algorithm does a scary good job and showing me stuff I like. If I see something that looks fun, I'll probably get it, even if I know my family and friends will think I'm crazy.

Do you have a style icon? Why are they your style icon?
I wouldn't really say I dress like her right now, but maybe Zendaya. I have never been disappointed by a look from her. If I had the resources and the occasions, I think I would try to emulate her style (which is basically pulling off everything).

What are you watching or reading or hobbying right now?
I just finished watching The Good Place and LOVED it, so I'll probably hunt down something similar to watch next! Currently hobbying: baking, crochet, and guitar. Shoutout to my awesome instructor Bill, who has been keeping me accountable for practicing.

What three things could you not live without?
Pizza, eyebrow wax, and my family!

What article of clothing are you living in right now?
Loose pair of overalls with a cute tee underneath. Perfect spring outfit.

What “traditional” styling rule do you love to break?
Probably sticking to classic style shoes.

Lots of people wear fun clothes and then "anchor" their outfit with a neutral shoe and accessories. Why can't my shoes be exciting & glam, too?

What is one weird fashion trend from your youth that you kind of wish came back?
As a late 90s baby, my youth was essentially the Y2K fashion we currently see having a second moment. I'm not mad about it, though! My favorite elements that are back are hair clips and maybe a velour tracksuit.

What is one thing about yourself people might be surprised to find out?
I love to DIY, and that's always fun when people find out! I have clothing and furniture and other things I've worked on in some way. When I make something, I normally don't share it, so normally people don't know. But it's always fun to return a compliment with "Thanks! I did it myself!".
